Cristiano Ronaldo….a slave!!!

FIFA president Sepp Blatter believes Cristiano Ronaldo should be allowed to leave Manchester United for Real Madrid, and has declared him as a modern slave. Not surprisingly I look at the news this morning to find a disturbed looking Ronaldo agreeing with this, saying he is a slave, despite signing a contract to keep him at his club until 2012.

Now to me, a slave is someone who is suffering at the hands of others, working in dismal conditions for very little financial reward and who is being treated in an appalling manner. So correct me if I am wrong, but Ronaldos lifestyle is far from downtrodden and poor. Only a couple of weeks ago he was pictured holidaying in Italy with his girlfriend Nereida Gallardo, soaking up the sun with smile on his face.

I for one wouldn’t mind being branded as a slave, especially if the earnings of the modern day slaves are anything like his… so where do i send my C.V?
